Review of Young Adult (2011) by Daniel T — 07 Nov 2013
Charlize Theron plays a middle-aged narcissistic-alcoholic ghostwriter who travels back to her hometown, so she can win back her ex-boyfriend who's married with two kids. In a way, it resembles a coming of age comedy/drama.
However, in the end of the film, nothing is actually resolved with the problems Theron's character has--and this is an important part to any coming of age film. So I don't really understand what the director is trying to get at.
