Review of Young Adult (2011) by Brett B — 03 Apr 2014

I think the audience dissatisfaction with this film is down to the fact that the marketing of this as an outrageous comedy was strongly off the mark. There are some comedic moments of the excruciating kind (all featured in the trailer), but what this film is actually about is a character suffering from a fall from popularity over the years to loneliness and loss of self confidence with alcohol being used as her saviour.

Re-visiting her past brings this to light. Worth watching, just don't expect a comedy!
