Review of Young Adult (2011) by Matt D — 20 Dec 2013
Charlize Theron being a terrible human being for over 100 minutes. You might love it, or hate it. I thought it was a valiant effort by Reitman to try and make this film empathize with her, and it kind of succeeds but not fully.
It's just incredibly tough to get past Theron's terrible-ness for us as an audience to follow her journey. Had she been a side character and had the film been about Patton Oswalt, it would have been much better.
Theron and Oswalt are amazing though for what they've been given.
