Review of Young Adam (2003) by Helen S — 15 Dec 2007
Depressing sex drama. Ewan McGregor is so fine, but story you want it to follow is kept to the sidelines and instead we see Joe (McGregor) bone a lot of different women. Oh well, if it was any other actor it would't be worth watching but...
It's realistic in the sense that the dialogue and acting is believable and the story of the discovered corpse in the canal is very intriguing. The revelation of Joe's connection with the body is revealed in short glimpses, however, and the rest is filler in the form of explicit sex. Who's complaining?
