Review of You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010) by Daylon H — 07 Sep 2011
Woody Allen has created a modern fable of how life is what happens while we're making plans. Alfie (Anthony Hopkins) leaves his wife to take up with a call girl. His daughter, Sally (Naomi Watts) is married to Roy (Josh Brolin) who completed medical school, but spends his days working on his novel.
She falls for Greg (Antonio Banderas), but then discovers that he is having an affair with her friend. Meanwhile, Roy is attracted to Dia (Freida Pinto) who he met while staring at her out the window.
While all this was going on, Alfie's wife, Helena (Gemma Jones) dealt with the end of her marriage by visiting a future teller. In the end, the river of life ebbs and flows on and happiness comes in surprising ways.
