Review of You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010) by Jiana W — 17 Apr 2012
Hmm... what do you do when a movie is full of characters you dislike? I mean, these are just unlikeable people! It doesn't match "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" by any stretch of the imagination. I am just recently getting into Woody Allen movies and it seems he loves Europe very much. Midnight In Paris, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and now this movie have similar themes revolving around struggling writers and art and picturesque European settings. Unfortunately, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger just isn't good or funny, or anything really. I'd say skip it.
And as beautiful as Freida Pinto is, can we all just agree that she is not a good actress? I've seen her in three movies now and think this girls needs to take some acting classes or something, or work on her craft more. Not since Megan Fox in the first "Transformers" movie have I seen such stale, unconvincing expressions and line deliveries.
