Review of You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010) by Paul P — 12 Nov 2010
Even below average Woody Allen is better than the rest. Every performance is spot on. Josh Brolin takes the cake though. The scenes with him and his mother in law are gold. And of course the scene in the bar near the end is classic Allen brilliance.
Nothing new from Allen, his bleak outlook on life is at the forefront yet again. The harder you try the less you get, the smarter you are the worse your luck, etc. But it works and after 'Whatever Works' this is practically a masterpiece.
