While it certainly has some unique ideas here this Joaquin Phoenix film is a narrative mess... The story, what there is of it, is implausible and often incomprehensible... with odd flashes of his past life showing up and never really explained.
.. Some brutal violence, often in corners of the frame.. some interesting imagery.. but mostly the film is just depressing weirdness.
