Review of You Were Never Really Here (2017) by Gabriel B — 21 Apr 2018
No cool Bruce Willis character. Joachim Phoenix gives you a flawed but realistic view of what a brutal private detective living outside the law would really look like. The movie starts slow (very slow), but it does this to create realism for the events that transpire in Act Ii.
This movie is a pleasant reminder that movies with flawed characters can still enthroll us. Great flick.
