Gilbert's love to direct mini-wars in Bond films lasted until the 70s, but he made sure to give the proper attention to the cultural context of Bond's surroundings, which is precisely what he did in the third quarter of the film. The fifth installment in the by-then great Bond series comes with a total knockout, and allow me to rest my case stating that Pleasance remains as my favorite version of Blofeld.
