James Stewart and Jean Arthur are so incredibly cute together in this celebrated comedy by Frank Capra. This is actually the first movie Capra did with Stewart.

Alice Sycamore (Jean Arthur), is about to introduce her fiance, Tony Kirby (James Stewart) and his parents to her family. But the problem is that Tony's parents are the stiff and snobbish type and Alice's parents are the crazy but vivacious type that love to play alternative versions of classic music by Bhrams and Chopin on intruments like xylophone, and dance to it! So it takes to genious to figure out there is gonna be a clash when the two families meet (but a very funny one!).

But that's not the only problem the love couple have.

Tony's father is intending to buy Alice's grandfather's (Lionel Barrymore) house in order to fullfill one of his projects and he expect Tony to support his cause.

This is one of my favorite Capra-movies.

And you will also see a very young Ann Miller in the part of Essie Carmichael.
