Review of You Can't Take It with You (1938) by Kerby H — 25 Jul 2012
A totally joyful and well-written story about a quirky family, trying to show one snobbish and boring old man the true meaning of life. Within all their ridiculous and perfectly humorous affairs, there is a tale of burning romance that needs to withstand all the adversities that ensue.
While all the characters are truly adorable and intentionally peculiar in their appeal, this screwball comedy remains true to its nature and presents a stable and remarkable adaptation of a notable play.
James Stewart and Jean Arthur in Frank Capra's direction can never go wrong.
