Review of You Can Count on Me (2000) by Bill N — 09 Dec 2007
We rented it out of the blue and were very pleasantly surprised. This was beautifully acted and the script was seamless. I kept guessing what was going to happen and was delighted to be wrong quite often.
I would not recommend this for children, even though an eight-year old is a main character. There is a lot of bad language and adult subject matter. Regardless, the story is charming about how tragedy at a young age can affect maturity, in some ways locking a person into that age when it happened.
