Review of You Can Count on Me (2000) by Dave G — 09 Aug 2007
A very understated, beautiful independent movie directed by theatrical wunderkind Kenneth Lonergan.
This movie has some great performances, not only by Matthew Broderick and Laura Linney, but also Mark Ruffalo, who is outstanding in this film. The building chemistry between Mark Ruffalo's Character and his nephew, exquisitely acted by Rory Culkin, in my opinion the most gifted of the Culkin clan, is just mesmerizing to watch.
All in all, one of the most wonderful slice of life films I think I have eve, or will ever have the pleasure to see. I can still watch this movie and not be bored by it.
