I am a huge Kevin Smith fan. I used to think he could do no wrong. Truthfully, casting his buddy with the voices seemed more unusual than his daughter. He should have improved the sound of the singing and had more screen time about how the music is the key/problem.

LR Depp can sing (I have heard her), but not on screen. Kevin should have known that and used movie magic to emphasise that part more than the money spent on tiny sausage special effects.
