Review of Yi Yi (2000) by Tanja S — 30 Aug 2007
Very subtle and understated...movie realism. Sit back and watch the universal human trials and tribulations play out in the lives of a Taiwanese family--jealousy, regret, a sense of emptiness, discontent in marital relationships, feeling you should have followed your heart in your career, integrity in business relationships, growing old, teenage friendship and love, the confusion of childhood .
.. and then resolutions to these issues. Yang Yang, the little boy was my favorite character--truly delightful.
