Review of Year by the Sea (2016) by Joni L — 11 Nov 2016
A Year By The Sea is an important film, beautifully done and well worth seeing!! Joan Anderson's story is masterfully portrayed through Alexander Janko's screenplay. He combines her first three books into a film that teaches us there is a way to reclaim our life, find fulfillment and self-esteem.
And in doing so, we improve our relationship with self so that we can improve our relationship with others!! Fabulous acting, beautiful scenery and music, amidst moments of laughter and nuggets of great wisdom combine to create a film well worth seeing.
This is NOT just a film for women...it is a film for men, too. I had the great pleasure of viewing it with my husband and my 31 year old son. Not only did they each enjoy it as much as I did, but it launched a conversation filled with insight and empathy.
Treat yourself to this movie. You will be glad you did!
