Review of Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) by Stan D — 06 Dec 2014
A great musical about the life of the vaudevillian theater actor, writer, dancer, musician and singer of the early 20th century, George M. Cohan, "the man who owned Broadway", and played memorably by James Cagney, who gained fame playing gangsters, but won an oscar singing and dancing in this fantastic movie.
This is another film made at the start of WWII, and contains several well-done patriotic songs as well. Irresistible music.
