Review of Y Tu Mamá También (2001) by Jesús G — 24 Nov 2011
If you ever want to watch a charming movie that turns into a total mindfucking spinoff of a Bildungsroman-esque story, watch this movie. It's very frank about sex and employs sex and self-discovery as predominant motifs.
Cuarón uses characters as tools in the creation of a tale about âthe fragility of life and the finality of death,â? and about the cultural and political context of the Mexico in which the plot unfolds.
The movie is replete with symbolism and striking cinematography. Watching it once wasnâ(TM)t enough.
