Review of Y Tu Mamá También (2001) by Ty P — 07 Feb 2012
Absolutely fabulous on so many levels. YTMT may seem like soft porn to anyone not fully involved in the film, but its timeless, artistic and honest approach make it something to fully comprehend Mexican(and possibly world) sociality.
With a perfect balance between coming of age immaturity with Julio and Tenoch, and the wanting to relive her youth character of Luisa, this film gels perfectly. Although the characters are the mainstay of the film, the film jumps every know and then to highly incorporate their settings and surrounding, highlighting the social, political and globalized levels.
and conditions of Mexico. Making Roadtrip seem like childs play, Y Tu Mama Tambien could be loved by anyone prepared to accept its honesty, and the understand the reality of its characters. But just in case, be prepared, for it has some of the best and possibly realest sex scenes you'll see outside of pornography.
Enjoy, I did!
