Review of XXY (2007) by Kaisa L — 12 Aug 2008
A complicated interesting film about the complexities of gender, XXY explores the realm of "other" with grace and honesty. Ines was the main character was brilliant and believable. I had minor problems with the characters saying so little at pivotal moments.
There were a number of times where Alvaro really frustrated me bc he didn't resond, and sometimes his expression bored on 'gaping idiot.' But generally a great, serious film.
