Review of XXY (2007) by Sarah C — 22 Nov 2008
Very sensitively handled but slow moving and a bit predictable in places. The most heartrending moments are the interactions between the fathers and their sons, adroitly demonstrating that even when a relationship is straightforward, there isn't necessarily a corresponding simplicity of emotion or communication.
Three stars for the plot, a bonus star for the superb acting.
