I have never been an X-Men fan. But if any movie could make one out of me, this would be it. "First Class" avoids many of the pitfalls other superhero movies fall into: It uses heaps of special effects and adrenaline-laced action sequences to get viewers in the theater, but also doesn't forget that great films start with a great story. Great writing, a top-notch cast, and fast-paced adventure put it up there in the top class of recent superhero movies, and make it (so far) the best movie of the year.
