Review of X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) by Dr. F P — 15 Jul 2015
There's a lot to enjoy in Days of Future Past, there's also a lot I didn't have fun with. I still find it aggravating to see James McAvoy's Professor X as the younger Patrick Stewart's - I should probably get over it but I JUST CAN'T! (and that long hair.
..from one extreme to the other!) On the other side, I love Michael Fassbender as Magneto, he has an insane anti-hero eyeball factor that does it for me. I feel like there's nothing much to take away from this X-Men movie, I can't put my finger on it, there's something that's bothering me incredibly about it to the point that it lets the whole thing down.
I never felt a sense of joy or amazement whilst watching this, I didn't feel moved or emotional, which I do in a lot of movies. Perhaps I was having a bad day, perhaps Bryan Singer was.
