Review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) by Matt M — 19 Aug 2016

Personally, I think critics have been harsh on this movie. The movie's villain, (played by Oscar Isaac) was very cliched and did have some elements that felt recycled from other films, but nonetheless he succeeded with what villains are meant to do, be menacing.

Every line that Oscar delivered brought a chill to the audience and his plans, upon major thought, did make sense. It was nice to see Storm returning as a main character, Nightcrawler was very well portrayed.

Magneto and Professor X as always were spot on. Quicksilver (a personal favorite) was hilarious and stole every scene he was in. Jean Gray was decent didn't like her character but didn't hate her, but I'm glad she had a crucial plot point.

The only one I have problems with was Angel. I didnt feel like he was given enough to do and his lines felt rushed. All the other characters was fine as well. I give this film 4 stars for at least giving it a go.
