Review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) by Olira — 06 Jun 2016
They even make reference to it in the movie "the 3rd film is always the worst".
This wasn't THAT bad, but it's far from good or the first two. It looks really poorly made in parts, like the entire fight scene in Egypt looks like it was out of a 2006 movie. Very poor green screen and wire tricks, just not well done. The other part that sucks is Ivan Ooze oh I mean, apocalypse. Really poorly designed and looks just so bad on screen, aside from that he's too powerful and you are left wondering why doesn't he just end it, what is he stalling for.
I just want an xmen movie where we see great characters, using their powers and basically fighting each other, Brotherhood agains X-men and this is FAR from it. The fight scene between Charles and Apocalypse is also really poorly done, SPOILERS ......... it's a dream style sequence apocalypse doesn't actually grow large like he is supposed to.
Jean Grey all of a sudden unleashing her Phoenix powers, having no affect on her after the fact, not fainting after unleashing that sort of power..... it was a quick and (stupid) way to wrap up this movie honestly, lazy. It's a shame because Jean Grey and Cyclops are really the only GREAT part of this movie, loved them, loved the actors and wanted more from them.
There was VERY little powers used or fighting in this movie at all, its entirely all saved for the last 20 mins and boy is it NOT worth the wait. I am super let down by this movie as a DIE hard X-men fan and STRONG lover of the other two movies. This at best is a very long trailer for the next movie starting the new cast, but its a painfully bad x-men movie.
Such a damn shame.
