Review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) by Jay S — 08 Sep 2018
It's so unfortunate to say that there's really not much here to like for me. I love Bryan Singer and what he has done with the x men movies but this was a very overstuffed, bloated, CGI heavy action film that felt so inconsequential and devoid of emotion that it almost left my mind instantly.
The villain was a waste as well, some of the new characters were played by talented actors that for some reason were just not good here, Jennifer Lawrence looked like she didn't even wanna be here.
The two biggest positives I can conjur up are Michael Fassbender once again giving a terrific performance as Magneeto, and a pretty good arc for quicksilver, played magnificently again by Evan Peters.
Beyond that, this was a colossal disappointment.
