Review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) by Daniel M — 20 Jan 2017
From the beginning, X-Men Apocalypse seems like a mish-mash of different films all crammed together. There are so many different things being set up that at times it is hard to follow. Things don't improve throughout the film, as nothing really happens.
The most memorable scene is one that has been done before, and lacks originality. The film ends with a lengthy 'action scene', where the audience are treated to the same thing happening over and over again.
My thoughts throughout this scene were "they're going to kill the bad guy. Oh, wait, they're not. Oh, wait, they are. Oh wait..." and so on... Just to top off the repetitive battle scene, which seems to go on for hours, the finale is predictable and overdone.
This is the worst X-Men movie to date, perhaps it's time to stop milking the series?
