Review of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) by Chris F — 26 Nov 2016

X-Men: Apocalypse is a fine entry in the X-Men series when it should've been a great entry. The performers are all good in their roles. Particular highlights are Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and Even Peters.

Oscar Isaac is fine as the villain, but he should've been much better. The beginning of the film is pretty choppy. It cuts to different characters without much coherence. The middle of the film is when it's at its most enjoyable.

With a great Quicksilver scene, it definitely delivers. The end is very disappointing. There is too much action. It is very overblown. Also, the villain is made less menacing than he should've been.

Overall, this is the worst X-Men film in the new trilogy. Still, it has its moments, and I can say that I liked the film. I still wished I loved it though.
