Review of Wyatt Earp (1994) by Eric M — 10 Jul 2009
This one is an epic, in the true three-hour-long-film sense of the word. It's sheer scale might not make it as accessible or enjoyable to non-Western fans as 'Tombstone', for example. Despite the length, this movie is still one of the best Wyatt Earp based films you can see.
Costner was excellent although his character was pretty unemotive, dull and rigid but it seems this was a conscience choice as opposed to poor acting. Quaid as Doc Holiday was fairly good but not as good as Kilmer in 'Tombstone', still he constrasted well with Costners dull-as-dish-water Wyatt.
All-in-all, a great film and a must for western-fans.
