Review of Wrong Turn (2003) by Cody L — 26 Aug 2013
The story is about Chris played by Desmond Harrington who is on his way to a job interview when he is slowed down by traffic. Afraid that he'll be late, he goes down the old dirt road where a SUV is stuck in his way and his tyres blow.
The driver of the SUV whose name is Jessie played by Eliza Dushku was out on an camping trip with four of her friends. Their names are Evan played by Kevin Zegers, Francine played by Lindy Booth, Carly played by Emmanuelle Chirqui and Scott played by Jeremy Sisto and they are all stuck in the middle of the road because their tyres went out and also because the road has been sabotaged with barbed wire.
Both Chris and the camping mates are in need of a telephone so Evan and Francine are left to look after the cars while the rest set out to find help. Evan and Francine soon realise that they have been led into a trap and as Chris, Jessie and their friends search for help, they find out that they have all fallen for victim to a gang of bloodthirsty backwoods killers.
This movie is a violent, shocking, brooding film and most of all owes its right to the Wes Craven classic The Hills Have Eyes which was its inspiration for the film and I'm glad I bought the DVD for this film too even if the quality is crap.
Wrong Turn gets a solid 8.2/10.
