As much as Lauren Bacall says she did this movie to work with Rock Hudson and is not proud of the result. She is wrong. It is by far the superior-"Sirkian"-melodrama. It surpasses Peyton Place, All that Heaven Allows, A Farewell To Arms, and any other melodrama.
Underrated performances. Beautifully filmed. It's a five-star movie in my book. so full of SOAP! love it!
