Review of Written on the Wind (1956) by Evan K — 05 Aug 2009
Didn't much care for it, but I knew I wouldn't. Eh, the women doesn't compel me and the music is to ballroom. It is hard to relate to this era, they really believed everything was okay an they all knew it wasn't.
Compare this to "Pumpkinhead" for fun. Anyway, the lighting at times was awful and good at others, this makes me think Sirk ain't the great director they say he is, he had much further to go; but then again, most famous directors are known for the later part of their early films, not for their last or first features.
