Review of Wristcutters: A Love Story (2007) by Robert T — 07 Jan 2009
Though the film started out a little slow for me, it picked up and it rather got interesting and enjoyable. When the film introduced the "after life," I was a little bored. It did not draw me in all that much.
Honestly, I was about to turn off the movie and I would rather watch something else. I did, however, gave the film a chance. The film got better when the film introduced the actual plot and additional characters that made the film a bit more fun.
I'm not a huge fan of dark comedy whatsoever. Honestly, I find that genre not that funny. And this film wasn't that different. I guess I was more amused to some of the jokes than breaking out in laughter.
Toward the end of the film, it got a little confusing, and sadly, a little slow. I wasn't sure what was actually going on when the film introduced a weird religion that was based around the teaching of the "King".
That was a little weird too weird for me. But, I have to say, the film's ending was just great! Overall, the film entertaining. Though there were some pumps here and there, those did not derail the film all that much.
And I have to agree with most of the reviews, this film was fairly well done for an indie film.
