The dark-gray ennui throughout is crushingly immersive. Its characters and their environment are full of a discomfort, a dissatisfaction, a disengagement - a physically exhausting mediocrity. All of these feelings close in on us, its audience, slowly and devastatingly, until its understated, heavenly crescendo.
