Review of Wristcutters: A Love Story (2007) by Asif K — 11 Nov 2011
This movie is massively underrated and it's sort of sad that more people didn't see it. Then again, with a title like Wristcutters, it's going to be a hard road. This plays almost like your typical indie road comedy with a twist that manages to make this into a wholly unique little movie.
There was potential here for a lot of gallows humor with the subject matter and all, and there are some hilarious scenes, but the movie is mostly a love story and a really nice and sweet one at that. The ending of the movie is also incredibly satisfying.
Strong performances, awesome music, likable characters and an offbeat charm make this movie worth going out of your way to see. I can't say enough good about this movie, it's not perfect by any means but it is still a great movie that's really should have more of a following than it does.
