Review of Wreck-It Ralph (2012) by Renzo V — 15 Jan 2014
"RALPH IN SEARCH OF SOME WRECK-OGNITION".
- This appealing 'Wreck-it Ralph' from 2012 is a computer-animated film from Disney. Very clever to mix old school arcade gaming with the modern, highly detailed computer games. I truly adored the many colorful characters. The original plot is full of references to existing video games (like Pacman, Sonic, Streetfighter, Super Mario) and contains a ton load of jokes that most certainly will entertain not just the young viewers. So kids, put your gaming consoles aside for 108 minutes of playtime with Ralph.
The villain of an old fashion arcade game Wreck-it Ralph is tired of being the bad guy. Not being invited to the 30th anniversary of his game, he wants to prove himself to the other characters and hero Flix-it Felix by earning a golden medal in the first person shooter called 'Hero's Duty'. He leaves his own video game and joins in on the army squad lead by sergeant Calhoun. Accidently Ralph unleashes a Cy-Bug, one of the enemies in the 'Hero's Duty' game, that threatens every other game. In the mean, while Wreck-it Ralph is missing, kids discover that the arcade game is not working properly. With the risk of getting unplugged, character Flix-it Felix will have retrieve his adversary. Will they be able to stop the Cy-Bug together or will it be 'Game Over'?
