Review of Wreck-It Ralph (2012) by Garrett K — 21 Jan 2014
Wreck-it Ralph could have been a disaster. It could have cheaply exploited its audience throwing in titles like Pac-Man and Sonic the Hedgehog, but instead takes advantage of the critical mass behind them to solidify the universe it creates behind arcade game screens.
Ralph is an unorthodox character who is relatable, and an ultimately powerful symbol of the consequences of selfishness in perfect harmony with Vanellope who has no choice but to be selfish. Wreck-it Ralph failed to earn its rightful title as Best Animated Film of 2012 overshadowed by a disappointing Brave.
