Review of Wreck-It Ralph (2012) by Ryan C — 12 Oct 2013
I finally got around to seeing Wreck-It Ralph and really enjoyed it. It's fun for all ages, from the interesting games Ralph and friends invade and to the old characters brought back for older gamers like myself.
Basically Ralph (John C. Reilly) is tired of being the bad guy and wants to be the good guy for once and win a medal. To do this and to prove his doubters wrong, Ralph infiltrates a different game and steals the medal causing chaos in the arcade. He ends up in the racing game called Sugar Rush and meets a spunky young girl named Vanellope (Sarah Silverman.) Vanellope is a glitch, which is a mistake in the games hard drive that causes her character to not perform correctly during the game. Because of this she is not allowed to race... or is she?
The movie was entertaining the entire journey, where at times kids movies can have lulls in them and be extremely boring for adults more often than not. That wasn't the care here and I would say both movies are enjoyable, I just enjoyed the arcade world more since I grew up a gamer.
