Disney wastes some unexploited potential but excels in the creativity department with a concept rich in visual design, construction of action sequences and effective humor. This is the first 3D animated film that can be called an authentic success; beyond the countless videogame easter eggs, both explicit and hard to notice unless you put attention to every frame, Wreck-it Ralph could be called the animated equivalent to Scott Pilgrim (which, ironically, is a film which title makes reference to another original videogame). The feature makes creative transitions from 8 bits to 35 bits, the movement mechanisms of the characters were a nice touch and that nostalgia evoked in the gamers of past generations is something impossible to ignore. Add to that valuable life lessons and the importance of accepting your role in any given context and you get a perfect cherry to decorate the cake's top. It completely surpassed my expectations.

77/100.

P.S. I dig Chun-Li.
