Review of WR: Mysteries of the Organism (1971) by Art S — 14 Jan 2011
Having lost its ability to shock over the years (not withstanding some definitely NSFW scenes, as they say), Makavejev's collage/essay film feels more like a jumbled mess of found footage than a coherent treatise equating sexual repression and Stalinist totalitarianism.
But in the context of Yugoslavia in 1971, it probably boosted everybody's orgone energy (even if it offended the true followers of Wilhelm Reich).
