Review of World's Greatest Dad (2009) by Mark P — 08 Oct 2011
Williams walks calmly along the edge of a knife in one of the sharpest and riskiest scripts I've seen in a while. Dark humor at its very best, 'World's Greatest Dad' feels wonderfully free from the constraints of tired ideas like 'society' and 'decorum'.
You can't help but smile at someone manipulating the idea of celebrity in an age when anyone can get famous for nothing. Fantastic stuff from Bobcat Goldthwaite, who bizarrely is the guy who did the stupid voice in those Police Academy sequels! Maybe I'm just uninformed but talk about coming out of left field!
