I'm pretty shocked to see that it received 96% from top critics. I feel unqualified to give a review on this because I COMPLETELY misread the tone of the film up to about halfway through it. That makes for a subpar viewing. However, after the son dies it led to some intriguing thoughts. I've always felt that when someone dies they become saints no matter how bad they were in real life. Playing with this concept was oddly amusing. I took the first parts of the movie too seriously, and they clearly weren't meant to be taken seriously, so it made for some misunderstandings on my part. But even if I did realize the film is the way it is from the beginning, I'm still not sure it would really work. I did crack up at the scene where Robin Williams tells the truth and then there's the slo-mo sequence of him stripping himself and diving into the swimming pool. Haha, pretty funny stuff. But I'll have to leave it with a 60% for now.

Watched on Taylor's laptop (Netflix) with Taylor on April 24, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. I didn't originally plan on watching it but I watched over his shoulder and grudgingly decided after a while it was worth watching the rest of it. I was pretty cynical of it up to the halfway point. Perhaps unfairly.
