Review of World's Greatest Dad (2009) by Kevin S — 11 Aug 2014
Bobcat Goldthwait directs this dark comedy starring Robin Williams as a failed writer who has a horrible pervert son, a dead end job as a poetry professor that looks likely to be lost, and a hot girlfriend who seems to be shifting her interests to the more popular English teacher at the high school he teaches at.
..then his son dies of auto-erotic asphyxiation. Deciding his son's death is too embarrassing, he decides to make it look more like a suicide, and writes a note. When the note gets published he then writes a fake journal and they get published and the whole school falls for the fiction of who the dead son was.
It is a highly entertaining, though admittedly not to everyone's tastes, film with a great performance from Robin Williams.
