Review of World War Z (2013) by Matthew H — 21 Jun 2014
When you think about the year 2013, you recall that it was huge year for pop culture. And after a while theirs going to be that film that tries to build off that popularity. And that's World war z.
Based of the book by name only. The film has Brad Pitt going around the world trying to find a cure for the outbreak. Really the whole flick feels like a paint by numbers zombie, except in this story it becomes almost unrealistic how brad gets out of half the stuff he's get into this movie. It's almost 2 hours of Brad pitt running from zombies.
The film isn't terrible, just boring really. They give brad a wife and kids just to make you actually care for the character, who I honestly can't remember the name of. Like I said he just from place to place, all of them used only to nudge at the answer to the cure.
Now it should be noted that this film had a disaster of a production. Having to be pushed back six months from its original theater release due to wanting to re-shoot the entire third act of the film. Where originally it was going to take place in russia. But everyone hated that part of the script so they reworked it and now we have a hooky Hollywood ending.
Really you should just avoid the film. Go read the book.
