Review of World War Z (2013) by Logan W — 10 Jan 2015
Ok first what's the deal with the Picasso cubism of the opening credits. Weird. And the walkaway from the wreck without a single scratch. Ok so this is apparently the sort of pilot episode of another series long movie franchise.
*Sigh... By the way the Z in the movie stands for Zis director does not know how to shoot action. Worst action director that falls on the south-side of Paul Greengrass. And the grass was NOT ANY greener.
I want to be on Brad Pitt's side for this because case-studies have shown he's been working like Tom Cruise hard to make this. So for him, I wanted this to be a success. I tried so hard not to root for this to be a failure.
This movie, however, teaches all the wrong lessons. This should've failed as an prime example of Hollywood don't-dos. And also, I'm tired of seeing everything destroyed. I feel like I should just go to the theater and just say yo 1 for How We Die please and I would like to die tonight in a zombie attack or 9/11 x 100.
I'm just so tired of the crappy-world view. It's a fricken jamboree of screw mankind bullcrap. The movies are left in obsidian ruins both literally and figuratively. I'm also starting to think these movies are made by misanthropes who have lost all homage for the human race.
One of my biggest trophs is that they film a family and even a country as a whole doing everything right, they're taking other ppl in, taking precautionary measures. How do they reward them for that? They're the ones to get blown up in choppers in mass-killings.
The seem-to-be safest people are in the grave-rising danger. The dumbnuts are the ones that slip through the cracks of the Earthly crust and embank themselves deep enough to survive this outbreak. Also time-consistency is off, and there are many unexplained or at least underexplained plot points.
It is a lethal injection of a movie. Seriously my love of zombies is continually being drained out me. The savages have become unsalvageable. And one last thing, this movie is a VERYYYY depressing movie if you start to think about it.
At the end of the movie, there's a shot that's literally a bulldozer shoveling bodies onto a bigger pile of bodies. Thousands of millions of people die in this movie and it's a pg-13 because there's no blood.
If there had been blood, it would be an R. It's very hypocritical.
