Review of Wordplay (2006) by Dennis W — 20 Jul 2007
Absolutely quirky, but warm, this film avoids taking itself too seriously, but still gives what comes off as an open, no-holds-barred look at a slightly different type of competition. The celebrity personalities add some much-needed legitimacy to the lead-in for the film and by the time that the movie is fully developed and reaching its peak, most viewers should feel one with the action.
It's not a particularly complex film and certainly follows the plot synopsis given without many surprises. Overall, it's an interesting story about the seemingly unintersting... and it's done pretty well.
