Review of Wordplay (2006) by Bernard O — 20 Aug 2006
[list] [*]Actually quite a bizarre movie about the history, appeal and national championships of crossword puzzles. [*]The best parts of the movie were the celebrity segments on why they enjoy crossword puzzles, among them Mike Mussina, Bill Clinton and the best of them all, Jon Stewart.
[*]Some of the puzzle championship contestants were true psychos and some of were kinda funny. I especially enjoyed the A-Rod of crossword puzzles who choked it up in the championship. [*]I don't really know why I saw this movie but I found it strangely enjoyable so by that standard I guess it was worth the time.
