Review of Woodstock (1970) by Kristin R — 26 Nov 2007
Despite the traffic jams, mud and toilet shortage they got everything right. The film distills a perfect moment in time, before the horror of Altamont and the 'death of the hippie.' I remember watching it when I was 12 in a swivel chair in our sunken suburban living room - in 1990 - and wishing I could have been there.
Great performances - CSN&Y, Arlo, Jimi, etc. but they are only part of the focus. Fantastic roc doc only paralleled by The Last Waltz.
