Review of Woodstock (1970) by Wendy T — 23 May 2010
Just over 3 hours long, and I was stuck in this documentary. How often does that happen? It is not only a masterpiece of a live performance film, but also a great documentary of what the event meant to the people involved, and the effect it had not only on the musical world but also on the world of music lovers.
Martin Scorsese's use of split-screen editing to get in as much footage as possible is genius, and gives the movie an even better experience!
